Fletcher Anderson: Varsity Girls Head Coach, Girls Volleyball Program Director


Fletcher returns for his second season as head coach for the Bears after leading the team last year to their third consecutive CCS Championship, the NorCal Division I Championship, and second place in the State Division I tournament. Fletcher was also an assistant coach at M-A in 2011. 

Fletcher's coaching career began locally at Vision Volleyball Club in 2010. He was an assistant coach for the 18 Blue team for four years, then the co-head coach of the 16 Blue team in 2015 and the 17 Blue team this past season. Fletcher was also an assistant coach at Bay to Bay Boys Volleyball Club in 2010.

Fletcher has an extensive background in competitive volleyball, including as a player. While at Golden West Community College, he was awarded the MVP of the league two years in a row. He then went on to play at Long Beach State, where he helped his team earn a trip to the NCAA Final Four and was awarded first team all-conference honors. After college, he played professionally for two seasons, one in Sweden and one in Germany.

Fletcher is from the South Bay and attended Los Gatos High School He is also a strength & conditioning coach and personal trainer at Bay Club Courtside.

Lauryn Anderson: Varsity Girls Assistant Coach

Lauryn returns for her second season as assistant coach after a successful first season leading the Bears to CCS and NorCal Division I championships and a second place finish in the State Division I tournament. Prior to coming to M-A, Lauren had 7 years of coaching experience at Vision Volleyball Club in the 16's and 17's age groups. She continues to coach for Vision during the club season and has helped all of her teams qualify for the Junior National Championships. This past season, Lauren and Fletcher served as co-head coaches for the Vision 17 Blue team.

As a player, Lauryn competed at Santa Clara University as an opposite hitter and middle blocker. She earned All-Academic honors her sophomore season and helped SCU to the WCC Championship. As a high school junior, Lauryn helped lead the Vision 17 Gold team to a silver medal. She completed her junior career as a starter on the Vision 18 Gold team, and in just three years of club volleyball, earned a full scholarship to Santa Clara.

Jackie Harper: JV Girls Head Coach
Jackie is originally from Carson City, Nevada. She played for Douglas High School where she helped lead the team to the 2010 Nevada 4A State Championship her senior year. After high school, Jackie continued her career at Anderson University in South Carolina. She then transferred to Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. In her junior year, Jackie was ranked 9th in NCAA Division II for assists.

While in her career, Jackie began coaching club volleyball for Encore Volleyball Club in Redwood City. She has coached there for four years and counting. In 2015, Jackie returned to Douglas High School to coach the freshman team alongside her former varsity coach, finishing a successful season with a record of 21-4.

Joan Gerber: Freshman Girls Head Coach
Menlo-Atherton is pleased to have Joan return for a fourth year with the girls program and as the head coach of the freshman team. Born and raised in Atherton, Joan began playing volleyball in the 6th grade. As a varsity player for M-A, Joan received All-League honorable mention as a middle blocker and outside hitter and was eventually inducted into the Menlo-Atherton Hall of Fame. 

While at the University of Oregon, Joan played both indoor and outdoor intramural volleyball. In addition to high school coaching, Joan has many years of experience coaching at the club level as well as the grade school level.

When she is not coaching, Joan enjoys spending time with her family.

Alexa Roumeliotis returns to the Girls Varsity Volleyball program this year as a Volunteer Coach.
